Jodie, What Town Are We In?

Alabama Geocache

We needed an Alabama geocache find to ensure we get at least one in every state we go through. This one was in Grand Bay, at an old bank. The Grand Bay State Bank was located in this building from 1913 to 1929. It was used as the post office from 1933 to 1975. There used to be a dance studio in one of the upstairs rooms in the late 1970's. Gotta go... Jodie wants to make up some time!

Wow

We didn't get to stop here but I bet they sell nuclear weapons!

Tallahassee Lassie

As we say good-bye to Tallahassee, let's take another look at our Tallahassee Lassie!

I 10 East/West Travel Bug Hotel

A quick stop a few miles down the road from the KOA, we found this whopper of a geocache. We dropped a travel bug off and picked up a couple to move along our journey westward. Jodie is piloting, weather is sunny with "whispy low grade clouds" (I call it fog). Fog, in Florida???

Day 2 Westward Ho!

Chattahoochee, Florida to Lafayette, Louisiana. Forecast calls for 50 percent chance of rain along the way. Had rain off and on last night and one little thunder bumper. Breakfast of yogurt, banana bread and "trailer-made Starbucks" and we are good to go.
Ps. In 5 miles is a HUGE travel bug hotel cache! We got a mission! (Don't tell Jodie!)

Bridget composes a Flat Maria Letter

Cousin Maria has a new twist on the Flat Stanley idea. She has Flat Maria! This is a cool way to share experiences with friends. Bridget is seen here composing her latest chapter for Flat Maria!

Made it to Chatahoochee!

Chattahoochee, Florida KOA

We made it here fine and only got enough rain on the windshield to smear dead love bugs all over. Upon arrival, we could hear thunder in the distance and we are getting a few small showers. As we began setting up, I found we sustained some damage on one side of the trailer. It looks like a black mirror from a big truck kissed the left side leaving a black streak and a gouge at one window. Seems very minor and cosmetic- a small trophy from a X-country trip! So in true Dale fashion, we celebrate with cake!

Necessity is the Camper of Invention

Dramatic Skies over Chatahoochee, Florida

14 Miles to Go

14 miles till we reach our first camp in Chattahoochee, Florida....and now.... The first rain of our trip! Just a shower so far, but we may get thunderstorms tonight. The kids still want to swim!

Suwannee River

Hey... Just passed over the Suwanee River. 359 miles behind us. Its "clousy" outside, 90 deg, and Jodie reports she is fighting the wind while driving.
