Bridget composes a Flat Maria Letter

Cousin Maria has a new twist on the Flat Stanley idea. She has Flat Maria! This is a cool way to share experiences with friends. Bridget is seen here composing her latest chapter for Flat Maria!

Made it to Chatahoochee!

Chattahoochee, Florida KOA

We made it here fine and only got enough rain on the windshield to smear dead love bugs all over. Upon arrival, we could hear thunder in the distance and we are getting a few small showers. As we began setting up, I found we sustained some damage on one side of the trailer. It looks like a black mirror from a big truck kissed the left side leaving a black streak and a gouge at one window. Seems very minor and cosmetic- a small trophy from a X-country trip! So in true Dale fashion, we celebrate with cake!

Dramatic Skies over Chatahoochee, Florida

14 Miles to Go

14 miles till we reach our first camp in Chattahoochee, Florida....and now.... The first rain of our trip! Just a shower so far, but we may get thunderstorms tonight. The kids still want to swim!

Suwannee River

Hey... Just passed over the Suwanee River. 359 miles behind us. Its "clousy" outside, 90 deg, and Jodie reports she is fighting the wind while driving.

Day 1, Return Trip Report

280 miles into our return trip and we are moving right along. Kids are singing songs, munching on snacks, reading books, watching movies, and asking are we there yet. The "I got to go really bad" hasn't started up yet.
We've planned our shortest day for the first one and build up as we go. Just fueled up in Gainsville, Florida and I think we are out of love bug country. I think we single handedly killed every love bug in the State with our truck and trailer. I don't know how I'll get them cleaned off the front of the vehicles!
Jodie is driving now, so I get a break. She does a great job as a truckin' momma. We should retire and become big rig drivers. Heck, we know all the stops from Manteca to Matlacha!

And...... We Are Off!

0830 hours Eastern time, Off to Chattahoochee, Florida!
